Why Our Church?

Family

We value fostering, loving, and supporting families through life’s journey. (Genesis 28:14; Romans 8:14-16; Ephesians 3:14-15)

Youth

We value the God-Given talents and gifts of the youth by training them in the spirit of love and the Gospel of Jesus the Christ. (Proverbs 22:6; Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

Education

We value the pursuit of excellence through continuous self-improvement, thereby creating an atmosphere of lifelong learning and edification. (Proverbs 8:10-11)

Senior Care

We value and honor our elders for their dedication, service, experience, wisdom, and love through ministries that seek to improve the quality of their lives. (Leviticus 19:32; Matthew 25:40)

Social Justice

We value the ability of every person to fulfill his/her role and purpose in society, regardless of race, ethnicity, class, or gender. We seek to work together for justice, give voice to and encourage the oppressed and defend the cause of the “least of these”—the most vulnerable members of the church and community. (Isaiah 1:17)

Core Practices

We value physiological, social, environmental, spiritual, intellectual, mental, and financial health as essential to effectively serve God and the community.

(1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

We worship according to Scripture to give God glory in unity and in truth. We actualize this belief through a blend of culture and technology to appeal to diverse needs, i.e. inter-generational believers and nonbelievers, ushering them into the presence of God.

(John 4:23-24)

We fellowship with believers to provide the foundation for caring, loving, and inter-generational relationships, which contributes to church growth and empowers the body to better serve the community. We interact regularly for celebration and support.

(Acts 2:42; 1 John 1:7)

We are intentional in providing effective outreach through the leading of the Holy Spirit. Our outreach through ministries serves and empowers the broader community through missions and evangelism.

(Matthew 9:35; Acts 1:8)

We offer instruction through formal sermons that seek to teach and inspire.

(Mark 16:15; Luke 4:18; Acts 5:42; Philippians 4:6-7; 2 Timothy 4:2)

We teach and study the Word of God giving every believer and nonbeliever a process of developing a biblical view towards the world, our personal circumstances, and our future.

(Proverbs 1:5; Acts 28:31; Gal 3:16; 2 Timothy 2:15;)

Mature believers give in three aspects—the first fruits of their resources (the Tithe); a quality number of hours to benefit the ministries of the church (time); and their God-given innate abilities to strengthen the ministries of the church (talents). We give, not grudgingly, but willingly and joyfully for the building of God’s kingdom and for the edification and sustenance (maintenance) of His church.

(Deuteronomy 16:17; Malachi 3:8-10; Luke 6:38; John 3:16; 2 Corinthians 9:6-8)

We pray to honor God as we magnify His holy name. Through prayer, we make our requests known to God and listen to hear from Him, to discern His will and, in so doing, find the peace of God. Ultimately, we believe prayer is a conversation with God whereby believers appeal to and listen to God.

(Jeremiah 33:3; Philippians 4:6-7; Hebrews 4:16; 1 John 5:14)

By serving each other—our families, fellow disciples, and community–with love and humility, we serve Jesus the Christ who taught us how to serve by His own example.

(John 13:12-17)

Core Beliefs

We believe that the Holy Bible (The Scriptures) is the Word of God, written by men through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and it serves as our supreme and final authority in faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

We believe that the Holy Bible (The Scriptures) is the Word of God, written by men through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and it serves as our supreme and final authority in faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

We believe there is one, and only one, living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, each of whom is equal in all attributes of deity and characteristics of personality. We believe God is the Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth, for God is the Creator of all things therein, made the earth out of nothing and man out of the ground. (Genesis 1:1, 26; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1,3; 4:24; Acts 5:3,4; Romans 1:20; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 4:5,6)

We believe the Church is not a building; rather, it is a body of believers. It is not static, but dynamic and forever growing physically and spiritually. We believe that the Scriptures command believers to faithfully gather for prayer, worship, and fellowship to glorify God and God only. We believe the Church is also where the ordinances of the believer’s Baptism and the Lord’s Supper as instructed and established by Jesus the Christ are observed. We believe the church is a guided community by spiritual leaders and other supportive leaders working together in love and unity for the Glory of God. Moreover, and most essentially, we believe the head of the Church is Jesus the Christ, and its governance is theocratic and not democratic. (Acts 2:42-47; Hebrews 10:24-25;)

We believe that Jesus the Christ was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. We believe as Scripture states, that He is true God and is true man. Moreover, we believe He is the second person of the Holy Trinity. (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:25-38; Romans 9:5; Titus 2:13)
