Bible Verses for Christmas Reflection

It’s the season of gift giving, spending time with family and friends, hot chocolate sipping, Christmas caroling, and watching your favorite Christmas movies. There are so many reasons to celebrate. At the heart of it all the true reason for the season is Jesus' birth. It's a beautiful time of year, and we invite you to pause and consider the significance of our Savior's arrival on earth with these beloved Bible verses.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever should believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”  John 3:16

"For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over His kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this."  Isaiah 9:6-7

"When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. And going into the house, they saw the Child with Mary, His mother, and they fell down and worshipped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered Him gifts, gold, frankincense, and myrrh. And being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed to their own country by another way." Matthew 2:10-12

"He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."  John 1:10-13

"Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!"  John 1:29

"But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons."  Galatians 4:4-5

"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”  Luke 2:14

Even though we can worship Jesus throughout the year, this season has a special meaning, as we recall the historical significance of Jesus' birth. It was the ultimate gift, the gift of hope and salvation.
